Koh Kong Island is actually an official military ground therefore development is forbidden. This means that the ecosystem is preserved, the beaches are far from crowded, and the scenery is in its natural form. The island has seven beaches, all of them along the western coast. Several of the beaches – lined with coconut palms and lush vegetation, just as you’d expect in a tropical paradise – are at the mouths of little streams. At the sixth beach from the north, a narrow channel leads to a hidden lagoon.
